Spotlight: The Principle

January 26th, 2015

The Principle

Are we significant? This is a question mankind has been wondering for a long time, especially since we began to discover other planets and galaxies. That's the question that this new movie, The Principle attempts to answer. The synopsis for this film reads:

""The Principle" brings to light astonishing new scientific observations challenging the Copernican Principle; the foundational assumption underlying the modern scientific world view. The idea that the Earth occupies no special or favored position in the cosmos has launched the last two scientific revolutions - the Copernican Revolution and Relativity - and, as Lawrence Krauss has said, we could be on the verge of a third, with "Copernicus coming back to haunt us". Interviews with leading cosmologists are interspersed with the views of dissidents and mavericks, bringing into sharp focus the challenges and implications not only for cosmology, but for our cultural and religious view of reality."

This movie is premiering in a few locations this week. Hopefully, once it gains traction, they'll be able to bring it to many more theaters around the country. The Jesus Revolution

January 18th, 2015

It's no secret around here that we love Kickstarter campaigns. We're always excited when a new Christian film comes along trying to be funded on Kickstarter, and today is no exception. Yesterday, a campaign was launched on Kickstarter for a new movie called The Jesus Revolution. Created by Jon Erwin, co-director of October Baby and Mom's Night Out, this movie explores the theme of spiritual revolution and attempts to rekindle this kind of revolutionary attitude that has been experienced in generations past. The description says:

Amidst all of the turmoil of the 1960’s, a move of God swept across the country. Time magazine called it the Jesus Revolution. Some called it a miracle. We just call it what it is. Hope.

We have a generation at risk... we need this to happen again. The answer is Jesus."

What's amazing about this film is why it's being funded on Kickstarter -- they want to be able to give this movie away for free. They want anyone and everyone to watch this film and be transformed by it. You can find out more about this project on their Kickstarter page. There you can also support them in this project if you'd like to see it become a reality. Be sure to check back as we bring you the latest on this movie!

New Movie: Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus

January 15th, 2015

Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus Christian Film

Did the Exodus really happen? That's the question this new movie, Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus, attempts to answer. Produced by Thinking Man Films, this movie will be a one night event through Fathom Events on January 19th. The synopsis reads:

What is the validity of history found in the Bible? Is it fact or fiction? What does the hard evidence really have to say about the foundational story of the Old Testament: the Exodus out of Egypt? An in-depth investigation by documentary filmmaker Tim Mahoney searches for answers to these questions amid startling new finds that may change traditional views of history and the Bible.

For more than 50 years, the vast majority of the world’s most prominent archaeologists and historians have proclaimed that there is no hard evidence to support the Exodus story found in the Bible. In fact, they say that the archaeological record is completely opposed to the Bible’s account. This view of extreme skepticism has spread from academia to the world. The case against the Exodus appears to be so strong that even some religious leaders are labeling this ancient account as historical fiction.

Filmmaker Tim Mahoney begins with the question, “Is the Bible just a myth, or did the archaeologists get it wrong?” He decides to tackle this issue with a deliberate scientific approach. After examining the details in the biblical text, he journeys across the globe to search for patterns of evidence firsthand. The result is the most in-depth archaeological investigation into the Exodus from Egypt ever captured on film.
