Kendrick Brothers' War Room in Theaters Today

August 28th, 2015

Kendrick Brother's War Room Christian Movie 2015

Today is a big day in the Christian film industry! The Kendrick Brothers, who have created some of the most recognizable Christian movies over the years like Fireproof and Courageous, have just released their fifth film, War Room. The movie premiered in theaters today and is estimated to finish in 2nd place at the box office this weekend. This is an amazing feat for the Kendrick Brothers, as they're competing with other big name secular movies in the box office total. By comparison, the very successful God's Not Dead placed 4th in the box office on its opening weekend. If you haven't heard of this film, the synopsis reads:

"With great jobs, a beautiful daughter (Alena Pitts) and a dream house, the Jordans seem to have it all. Appearances can be deceiving, however, as husband Tony (T.C. Stallings) flirts with temptation and wife Elizabeth (Priscilla Shirer) becomes increasingly bitter, crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage. Their lives take an unexpected turn for the better when Elizabeth meets her newest client, Miss Clara (Karen Abercrombie), who encourages the couple to find happiness through prayer."

War Room is a bit of a change from previous movies by the Kendrick Brothers, as it is the first to not be released under the Sherwood Pictures branding. Instead, this is being produced by Sony's Affirm Films and The Kendrick Brothers brand. We had the chance to view this movie a few days ago, and are readying our review for release on September 1st on our Youtube channel. If you haven't yet, be sure to subscribe to our channel so you'll be informed when we release that review.

Do You Believe? Available on DVD

August 10th, 2015

One of the biggest Christian movies of 2015 is now available on DVD; Do You Believe? Created by Pure Flix Entertainment (the makers of God's Not Dead), this movie released in theaters back in March and is now available to purchase on DVD. The synopsis for this film says:

"A dozen different souls—all moving in different directions, all longing for something more. As their lives unexpectedly intersect, they each are about to discover there is power in the Cross of Christ … even if they don't believe it. Yet.

When a local pastor is shaken to the core by the visible faith of an old street-corner preacher, he is reminded that true belief always requires action. His response ignites a faith-fueled journey that powerfully impacts everyone it touches in ways that only God could orchestrate.

This stirring new film from the creators of God's Not Dead arrives in theaters Spring of 2015. More than a movie, it's a question we all must answer in our lifetimes: DO YOU BELIEVE?"

This is an excellent movie, and in my opinion, even better than God's Not Dead. You can check out our full review on our Youtube channel, or embedded below:

From a documentary about abortion (180) to a film about evolution (Evolution vs. God), they've sparked discussion over a variety of controversial topics. Today is no different, as they release their latest documentary, Audacity. In this film they tackle the issue of homosexuality head-on, sharing their beliefs and thoughts on witnessing to a homosexual audience. The synopsis for this film reads:

From Living Waters, creators of the award-winning TV program “The Way of the Master” and the hit movies “180” and “Evolution vs. God,” comes the powerful film “Audacity.” Executive produced by TV co-host and best-selling author Ray Comfort (Hell’s Best Kept Secret, Scientific Facts in the Bible), this film delivers an unexpected, eye-opening look at the controversial topic of homosexuality.

When confronted with one of today’s most divisive issues, he feels compelled to speak, but can he? Challenged by his coworker Diana (Molly Ritter) to defend his convictions about homosexuality and gay marriage, will he have the courage to stand for what he believes—even at the risk of losing a friendship? And how will he respond when faced with a harrowing life-or-death experience?

Old Fashioned on DVD

June 16th, 2015

It's no secret that we absolute loved Old Fashioned when it came out. We mentioned it on our Youtube channel, reviewed it on our podcast, and gave it plenty of coverage on our blog. After a successful run in the theaters last February, this movie is now coming to DVD today. The synopsis for this film says:

"A romantic-drama, Old Fashioned centers on Clay Walsh, a former frat boy who gives up his reckless carousing and now runs an antique shop in a small Midwestern college town. There, he has become notorious for his lofty and outdated theories on love and romance as well as for his devout belief in God. When Amber Hewson, a free-spirited young woman with a restless soul, drifts into the area and rents the apartment above his shop, she finds herself surprisingly drawn to his strong faith and noble ideas, which are new and intriguing to her. And Clay, though he tries to fight and deny it, simply cannot resist being attracted to her spontaneous and passionate embrace of life. Ultimately, Clay must step out from behind his relational theories and Amber must overcome her own fears and deep wounds as the two of them, together, attempt the impossible: an "old-fashioned" and God-honoring courtship in contemporary America."

Pure Flix - Christian Alternative to Netflix

June 8th, 2015

Ever since Netflix Instant Play rose to popularity, Christians have been looking for a similar service, featuring Christian films and a variety of wholesome entertainment. While Netflix does have some options, such as God's Not Dead, and the new exclusive series Veggietales in the House, the selection is still pretty limited. There have been a few other services that we've mentioned from time to time, and today we're letting you know about a new one releasing from Pure Flix, one of the biggest names in the Christian film industry right now.

With a design and UI very similar to Netflix, it would seem they're attempting to give Christians an option to directly compete with Netflix. The service is priced at $7.99/month, and will allow you to watch on a computer, on Android phones, or Roku. Some of the titles available for instant online streaming include:

-Old Fashioned

-Pirate's Code

-Dancer and the Dame

-Sarah's Choice

-What If...

-One Hit from Home

-Finding Normal

-The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry

-Kingdom Under the Sea

These are just a few of the titles, and if you want to find out more for yourself, you can visit What do you think about this? Will you be subscribing to this service? As always, be sure to let us know what your thoughts are in the comments below!
